The IndependenceFirst Mobility Store, formerly Wheelchair Recycling Program (WRP), is an innovative non-profit that offers low cost, refurbished and sanitized mobility and medical equipment to those who lack the resources to acquire new equipment.

All equipment is donated to the Mobility by individuals, businesses, and other nonprofit agencies. Every item is carefully sanitized and repaired by experienced workers at Badger State Industries.  Every dollar collected for equipment is re-invested in the program and helps to sustain our services.

-------------------------

We are pleased to announce that on September 1, 2012, the Wheelchair Recycling Program, LTD was acquired by IndependenceFirst. It is now the IndependenceFirst Mobility Store. It will continue doing business from the Wauwatosa and Madison locations.

After considerable review by the Board of Directors of both the Wheelchair Recycling Program and IndependenceFirst, the merger was approved to strengthen both organizations. The Mobility Store will benefit from IndependenceFirst’s reputation and organizational resources. IndependenceFirst benefits by expanding our array of resources for persons with disabilities.

Julie Schulz will continue to run the program as the Mobility Store program Director. Scott Luber is the IndependenceFirst supervisor for the program.

Sincerely,

Julie Schulz
